Did you know that the tax-neutral bond proposal includes the construction of a Bloomberg Business Center at the high school, where students can immerse themselves in financial literacy and business courses with the latest technology at their fingertips? These renderings are an example of the innovative space.

At the Board of Education meeting on Dec. 5, the Board officially adopted a resolution to move forward with presenting a tax-neutral bond referendum to the community for vote on Tuesday, Feb. 13 for improvements centered on education, student and staff well-being and athletics. Please save the date! Polls will be open from 6 a.m.-9 p.m. in the Garden City High School gymnasium. All information related to the proposal can be found on the bond page of the district’s website, https://www.gardencity.k12.ny.us/.../page/bond-information

In honor of Disability Awareness Month Stewart School participated in the "Awareness Games". Created by Michele Vincent, School Social Worker and facilitated by School Psychologists Dina Mulstay and Gina Tornincaso, each grade participated in an assembly designed to build empathy and awareness for students with different abilities and challenges. Students rotated through different stations that simulated what it was like to have various disabilities such as sensory issues, processing disorders, mobility impairment, hearing impairments and visual impairments. The students loved trying the different challenges and the hands-on experience. The goal is to broaden our students' perspectives and allow them to see the world through the lens of different abilities people face each day!
