Did you know that the tax-neutral bond proposal includes the construction of a Bloomberg Business Center at the high school, where students can immerse themselves in financial literacy and business courses with the latest technology at their fingertips? These renderings are an example of the innovative space.
At the Board of Education meeting on Dec. 5, the Board officially adopted a resolution to move forward with presenting a tax-neutral bond referendum to the community for vote on Tuesday, Feb. 13 for improvements centered on education, student and staff well-being and athletics. Please save the date! Polls will be open from 6 a.m.-9 p.m. in the Garden City High School gymnasium. October is Fire Prevention Month and today kindergartners and first graders from Hemlock learned about Fire Safety from our friends at the Garden City Fire Department. Our teachers even demonstrated the gear firefighters wear when fighting a fire!
Congratulations to Sara for being our October, Artist of the Month! After studying the work of abstract artist, Piet Mondrian. Kindergarten students learned about line, geometric shapes, and the primary colors to create their own "mini-Mondrian" masterpiece!
