This week, our GCHS Science Research students showcased their exceptional talents at the 75th anniversary of the Long Island Science Congress (LISC) at the Cradle of Aviation Museum! Our Honors Science Research students from grades 10-12 presented their innovative projects, covering a wide range of topics such as Alzheimer's Disease, fetal diagnosis, osteoporosis, and more! Under the guidance of Dr. Meredith Foley and Dr. Steven Gordon, our students participated in rigorous judging rounds alongside over 850 peers from Nassau and Suffolk County. Winners will be announced later this year, and we couldn't be prouder of their hard work and dedication! Not to be outdone, our Freshmen Science Research Honors students took the stage at the LISC Junior Division, showcasing their research on topics like environmental impacts, human behavior, and more! Mentored by Tori Flaherty, our freshmen explored questions ranging from the effects of sunscreen on plant growth to the social dynamics of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Their creativity and commitment are truly inspiring! Congratulations to all our students for their outstanding achievements and for representing GCHS with such distinction!
