Garden City High School students explore Italy through pizza box project

From Sept. 28 through Oct. 2, Garden City High School students in Signor D’Ambrosio’s College Italian 5 class brought their study of Italy to life through a creative and engaging project highlighting the country’s diverse regions.
Each senior researched a region of Italy and showcased their findings through a uniquely designed pizza box presentation. Students decorated their boxes and filled them with slices featuring interesting facts about their assigned regions, including the aspects that make each destination special.
Students then delivered oral presentations entirely in Italian, sharing their research and highlighting the distinctive characteristics of their regions.
To celebrate their hard work and creativity, students in the morning class enjoyed a bagel party, while the afternoon class was treated to a pizza party.
The district would like to thank A&S Bagels in Franklin Square and Mama Theresa’s in Garden City Park for helping make these celebrations possible.
