Garden City High School Literary Circle holds annual Spring Equinox Poetry Reading

On May 21, the Garden City High School Literary Circle hosted its annual Spring Equinox Poetry Reading, an event that highlighted student creativity and the power of poetry to bring people together. Led by English teachers Aria Laucella and Laurie Bocca, the club meets twice a month to build a deeper appreciation for literature and provide students with opportunities to share their voices through poetry.
This spring's reading featured poems inspired by the theme of love, alongside student-selected pieces that reflected individual passions, perspectives and experiences. Participants presented both original works and meaningful selections from admired poets, creating an evening centered on creativity, reflection and connection.
By creating opportunities for students to write, perform and collaborate, the Literary Circle continues to promote self-expression, confidence in public speaking and a welcoming community built around a shared love of language and storytelling.
