Garden City High School brings ‘The Living Wax Museum’ to district’s primary schools

As part of the district’s celebrations for America’s 250th birthday, students from Garden City High School brought history to life during “The Living Wax Museum” at Locust, Homestead and Hemlock primary schools.
Dressed as notable historical figures, high school students from Ms. Megan Caputo's AP U.S. History classes taught the younger learners about their figures’ contributions to American history through engaging, interactive presentations. The events concluded with a patriotic freeze dance party and a spirited rendition of “Happy Birthday” to America.
The peer-to-peer experience not only helped make history exciting and accessible for the primary students but also gave the high schoolers an opportunity to develop leadership, communication and mentorship skills.
