Garden City students honored at NYS AHPERD Outstanding Physical Education awards

On May 6, Garden City Schools celebrated a strong showing at the NYS AHPERD Nassau Zone Outstanding Physical Education Awards, held at Mineola High School. Garden City was well represented by primary, elementary and middle school students who were nominated for exemplifying the highest standards in physical education and health.
The award recognizes students who demonstrate the New York State Learning Standards for Health and Physical Education by maintaining an active lifestyle, showing responsible personal and social behavior, exhibiting leadership, contributing to their school’s physical education and health programs and valuing overall wellness.
Congratulations to the following recipients:
- Hemlock Primary School: Morgan Coelen and Theodore DeBrich.
- Homestead Primary School: Caroline Furman and Kevin Reynolds.
- Locust Primary School: Maria Karangunis and Mason Flynn.
- Stewart Elementary School: Amelia Regazzi and George Davidson.
- Stratford Elementary School: Gray Loesch and Nathaniel Schwarz.
- Garden City Middle School: Breaker Seidenberg and Kaitlyn Parker.
