Forty Garden City High School students excel in Long Island Math Fair

On April 24, 40 students from Garden City High School’s math research program showcased their work at the Long Island Math Fair.
Hosted by the Association of Mathematics Supervisors of Long Island, the Long Island Math Fair is a research competition for students in grades 7–12. It provides participants with the opportunity to explore advanced mathematical topics beyond the traditional curriculum and develop original research projects. To compete, students submit a research paper and present their findings to peers and judges during an in-person event at Hofstra University.
Garden City students represented the district with distinction, presenting their projects alongside peers from across Long Island. Participants were evaluated on both their written research and oral presentations, earning an impressive total of eight gold medals, 14 silver medals and 12 bronze medals.
