Garden City School District recognized as one of the Best Communities for Music Education for 15th

The Garden City School District is proud to announce its recognition as one of the Best Communities for Music Education for the 2025–2026 school year by the NAMM Foundation. This marks the 15th time the district has earned this prestigious designation, which honors schools and districts demonstrating a strong commitment to providing high-quality music education as part of a well-rounded student experience.
The NAMM Foundation, a nonprofit supported in part by the National Association of Music Merchants, promotes lifelong music participation through research, philanthropy and public service initiatives. Districts are selected based on factors such as funding, graduation requirements, class participation, instructional time, facilities, program support and community engagement in music making.
This recognition reflects the dedication of teachers, administrators, parents, students and community members who continue to prioritize music education in Garden City schools. Through their efforts, students are provided meaningful opportunities to learn, perform and grow through music.
“Our music educators bring incredible passion and creativity into their classrooms each day, inspiring students to learn and express themselves through music,” said Akira Regan, coordinator of music and the arts for Garden City Schools. “This recognition reflects their dedication, as well as the strong support of our entire school community in making music education a valued part of our students’ experience.”
The Best Communities for Music Education program recognizes 1,008 districts nationwide and highlights the importance of music as an essential part of a comprehensive education, as well as its positive impact on student achievement and development.
