Garden City High School students earn recognition in prestigious art and music programs

The Garden City School District is proud to announce several outstanding achievements in the arts and music.
At Garden City High School, students Madeline Power and Mina DiLoreto have advanced to the next stage of the Roger Rees Awards process, a prestigious program that celebrates excellence in high school musical theater and recognizes outstanding student performers across the region. The students will audition on May 2 for the opportunity to perform at the Roger Rees Awards Showcase later in the month.
Additionally, GCHS student Kexin Su was selected to exhibit in the National Art Education Association’s National Art Honor Society Juried Exhibition, a highly competitive national showcase that highlights exceptional student artwork from members of the National Art Honor Society. Out of 2,007 submissions, Kexin’s work was one of just 87 pieces chosen for the digital exhibition, which opens on April 10.
“These accomplishments reflect not only the talent of our students, but also their dedication and ability to push themselves artistically,” said Ms. Akira Regan, Garden City’s director of music and the arts. “We are incredibly proud of the way they represent our program and our school community.”
The district congratulates Madeline, Mina and Kexin on these outstanding accomplishments.
