Stratford third graders participate in annual science fair

On Jan. 15, the first group of third graders at Stratford School in Garden City displayed their work during the third grade science fair, where they presented projects, posters and discoveries to classmates, teachers and family members. The fair is designed to spark curiosity in STEM, support investigations driven by student interests and strengthen the science curriculum by connecting learning to real-world problems through hands-on scientific inquiry.
In preparation, students learned the foundations of the scientific method, including observation, hypothesis development, experimentation and drawing conclusions. They then applied these skills by completing their projects independently at home, with minimal assistance from family members.
The science fair reflects the Garden City School District’s ongoing commitment to supporting STEM education and hands-on learning at all grade levels. The next session of the science fair will take place on Jan. 22 during the school day and in the evening.
