At Stratford School, Lindsay Bleistein’s class commemorated students’ newfound success as authors with a Symphony Share. Second graders recently completed their first writing unit on Narrative Writing, through which they learned to capture their lives and ideas by writing stories.
Each student wrote several personal narratives and chose one piece to move into "the revision stage." This entails editing and revising a first draft to incorporate a small moment to stretch out, additional details and powerful language.
Once the final drafts were published, it was time for the hardworking writers to shine! Ms. Bleistein’s students chose the most powerful sentences from their stories and read them during their group sharing celebration. Remote students tuned in virtually and the whole class came together through literacy.
