Garden City HS Honors Seniors for Academics, the Arts and Service

Prior to the end of the school year, Garden City High School held its annual Senior Awards Ceremony, handing out 130 different awards that recognized achievement in the major academic disciplines, the fine and performing arts and service to the school and community.

Representatives from numerous school-based and community organizations bestowed scholarships, citations of excellence and great praise on students at the ceremony on June 6 to honor the hardworking, dedicated members of the Class of 2019. More than 50 governmental, school- and community-based organizations presented awards, including some in memoriam of local heroes who set an example for leadership and service in years past. The PTA and SEPTA gave special awards of their own to congratulate students who demonstrated qualities such as commitment and perseverance this year, while inspiring their classmates to help others. More than 65 departmental awards were also presented, covering art, business education, English and school publications, mathematics, music, science, social studies, theater and world languages.

The evening culminated with the presentation of the co-valedictorians Cassidy Go and Elsie Schaubeck and salutatorian Aidan Padala, as well as the highest-ranking seniors.

Congratulations to all of the members of the senior class who won awards, and special thanks to all of the organizations that volunteered their time and resources to acknowledge these shining stars of the Class of 2019.
