Mandi Stefankiewicz Named Assistant Principal at Garden City HS

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kusum Sinha is pleased to announce that the Board of Education has appointed Mandi Stefankiewicz to serve as assistant principal for guidance and pupil personnel services at Garden City High School. Ms. Stefankiewicz has 17 years of experience as a school psychologist at our high school and is well respected by her colleagues and beloved by students.

During her time here, Ms. Stefankiewicz has always put students first and has approached every challenge with a positive mindset and diligent work ethic. She is an outstanding communicator who works collaboratively with faculty, staff, parents, and students.

The district’s search for a Director of Guidance, which began last summer, proved to be very difficult. As a result, this new position has been created to supervise and lead the guidance department and pupil personnel services at the High School. The guidance department at the Middle School will be supervised by Interim Principal Dr. Eric Nezowitz.

We are confident that Ms. Stefankiewicz’s inclusive, student-centered approach will be a tremendous asset in leading our counseling and PPS departments, in particular, through the college coordination process.
