Dear Garden City Families and Community Members,

It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as your Director of Literacy K-12! I feel deeply privileged to be able to work with the Garden City Public Schools community with its long legacy of ensuring enriching environments and achieving academic excellence for all students. I am committed to working in partnership with the administration, teachers, students, families, staff, and community members to uphold the mission and vision of the school district and deliver a comprehensive approach to literacy instruction, while continuously developing and nurturing the social, emotional, and academic needs of all students throughout their educational journey.

As a dedicated and enthusiastic professional, I am proud to have served in a variety of roles in education over the last 16 years including, Elementary Classroom Teacher, Elementary and Middle School Literacy Specialist, Instructional Coach, Enrichment Program Supervisor, New Teacher Mentor Coordinator and Assistant Principal. These experiences have afforded me the opportunity to provide instructional leadership and resources to schools, design and implement curricula across the content areas, support and model instruction, plan and provide professional learning experiences, deliver targeted reading interventions, and integrate technology in meaningful ways. I have worked with administrators, teachers, and the community to elevate best teaching and learning practices, and partnered with new staff members to build a strong foundation for long lasting careers. Within all of these roles, I have genuinely embraced a commitment to being a highly collaborative and motivated professional who enjoys sharing best literacy practices with colleagues, students, and families, builds strong relationships and keeps students at the heart of all decision-making.

I am looking forward to embarking on this experience as a learning partner in fostering an environment of success for all students and forging strong relationships with all members of the Garden City community.
