Dear Trojan Fans,
I am extremely excited to begin the 2014-2015 school year as Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics for Garden City Public Schools. I have always been impressed by Garden City’s high level of standards in academics, athletics, and the arts. My interaction with the school, community and staff during the past month has only confirmed these impressions.
I would like to tell you a bit about the path that has led me to Garden City. I spent 22 years of my teaching career in the Oyster Bay-East Norwich School District as a physical education and health teacher in grades K-12. In 2008, I became the Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics in the Oyster Bay-East Norwich School District; I served in that capacity for two years. In 2010, I was appointed as the Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics for Roslyn Public Schools where I spent the last four years.
Over the course of my career I have coached varsity volleyball, basketball, softball, and lacrosse. I have been involved in the college recruiting process as a parent, coach and athletic director. I look forward to sharing my experience with the Garden City community. I am actively involved in Section VIII, where I serve as the Vice President of Girls’ Athletics and the Girls’ Lacrosse Coordinator.
With the start of the fall athletic season quickly approaching, I look forward to meeting the outstanding student-athletes that take tremendous pride in all they do both on and off the field. I hope to share my philosophy regarding the power and synergy of teamwork as I have experienced results that have been truly amazing. I would also like to encourage and motivate our student-athletes to never settle for less, helping each to realize their true potential.
I welcome the opportunity to meet each of you. It is a privilege and honor to serve the Garden City community. I look forward to sharing in the excitement of being one of the biggest fans of Garden City's Athletic Program.
