• REOPENING INFORMATION FOR FALL 2020

    June 23, 2020

    Dear Parents and Guardians,

Some of you have asked about our plans for September. While we cannot make key decisions until New York State Education Department and Governor Cuomo gives school districts guidelines and expectations for opening, we have established a task force for this purpose. Our task force consists of various stakeholders including teachers, administrators, parents, and board members. The task force has been meeting and will continue to meet until our plans are in place for September.

We are planning for three scenarios for opening - students return to school, continue with remote learning, and a hybrid model of remote and in-person instruction. Areas of focus include: transportation, teaching and learning (remote or in-person), class schedules, staggered schedules, special education, athletics, food services, social and emotional needs, staffing, and our policies. While our goal is to bring our students back to school in September, we will need to abide by the Governor’s orders, the New York State Education Department, and the New York State Department of Health. Please know that opening will happen in a way that places safety first.

Please have patience as we continue to plan for school opening and we will communicate with you throughout the summer. For planning purposes, we will be sending you a survey this week to complete. We greatly value your input as we plan for September. Sincerely,

    Kusum
