Mr. Messier

Mr. Messier has been a part of the Garden City educational community for over 23 years as a teacher and coach. He has a wide variety of educational experience, having taught 2nd, 4th and 5th grades. Currently, he is the teacher of the gifted and talented in both Stewart and Stratford Schools.

Mr. Messier attended Hofstra University, where he earned undergraduate degrees in both Psychology and Elementary Psychology.  While at Hofstra, Mr. Messier had the privilege to compete in NCAA Division I Athletics as a member of the Pride's football team for 4 years.

After graduating, Mr. Messier revisited Hofstra to earn his Master's Degree in Math, Science and Technology (now STEM).  He also holds a New York State Certification in Educational Leadership as well as a certificate in Gifted and Talented Education.

As a professional, Mr. Messier has presented at various staff developments, and at various conferences such as the Suffolk Asset Anual Technology Conference and PAL Gifted and Talented Symposium at New York Law School. He has also worked closely on various projects with the Hofstra University Engineering and Education Departments and is in current collaboration with CUNY Hunter College and their Gifted and Talented program.  Most recently, Mr. Messier was invited to present at the National Association for Gifted Children's Annual Convention in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
