Chorus Grading PolicyThe Middle School Choral Program is designed to teach students the elements of musicianship, collaboration, professionalism and teamwork. The curriculum encompasses music theory, sight-reading, language-learning, part-singing, vocal pedagogy and repertoire.
Students receive a grade on their report card each quarter, and this grade, like other academic subjects, becomes part of the student’s overall average.For 8th grade singers, grades are divided into two categories:
60% collaboration and rehearsal skills
40% exam scores and graded assignmentsFor 6th and 7th grade singers, grades are divided into three categories:
50% collaboration and rehearsal skills
30% exam scores and graded assignments20% lesson attendance***Extra help is always available; simply schedule an apoointment with either Mrs. Menges or Ms. Conte!***

- Early morning makeup lessons will begin at 7:45 am and meet in room 135. If your teacher is not in room 135, please check next door in room 134 (the orchestra room).
